Since this site is originating in North America, your country would be considered overseas. On Europrean sites, we are oversees. I hope you are able to resolve your device issues

See, this is why I'm not getting one. Jason didn't do a review. I feel gyped.

I would ban him, but I've already fulfilled my ban quota for the day.

It will be interesting to hear feedback from people after the Storm is released from Verizon, though.

Lol. I believe the reviews from the Verizon folks will be a tad more optimistic than those from Vodafone. Interesting nonetheless.

I went with a kayaking on a rapid this year, and a friend fell into the water on a small waterfall with a Blackberry Pearl in his pocket (and it was on!). It got completely soaked all the way through - he turned it off and 2 days later when it dried it worked perfectly fine again. So I have some faith that a few water drops won't kill the BBy Storm.

That is great!!!! Now if it only came with some Silicone for the gap between the screen and the body all our problems would be solved.

That's a hefty guarantee.

I am very interested in Verizon's Storm, though. It'll be interesting to see how the first week plays out cause I'll probably get mine after that - if I do convert.

I was in my local VZW store tonight upgrading my spouse's phone to one of the other phones on the VIP card. They had a non-functional demo unit in the store. It has a very nice heft to it. The phone feels really solid. Anyway, I was looking at the gaps around the screen and especially at the bottom to see what some people have been getting their panties in a twist over. To be honest, I still do not see what the big deal is. I compared the gaps around the screen to the gaps around the keys on my 8703e and to me, they seemed about the same. The gap at the bottom is a hair wider then the other three but you really have to be looking for the difference. It is not as noticeable as some are making it out to be. This is just my opinion and I am pretty picky to boot.

The dummy units do not have a gap around the screen. it's not fully functional. Whereas functional units do. Regardless, the gap isn't that big and will be fine.

@Jason Mark
I recently read about on the Vodafone forums the green call button falling off when they are using the pouch sleeve case...something about a piece of fabric on the inside catching the button as you are pulling it out? Do you know how sterdy the buttons will be on the Verizon version or will it be of the same build quality? My main concern is because I like the pouch sleeve style case for the phone and I currently use that type of case for my Curve. Any input or thoughts on? TIA

People keep talking about this gap around the screen. Jason (or someone else with a Storm), can you post a pic of the gap so that we can see what everybody is talking about?

wow haha...glad it happened to mine yet
but erm, the sleeve/pouch you get with the phone, what it actually does, is press all the buttons down as you slide the phone into it, and is quite tight on your phone too. and when the phone is actually fully inside, the screen is constantly pressed down too. just thought i'd share that. it doesn't seem to have and fabric inside that would/could cause a button to come off though, either by latching or catching onto it. so i guess them users that had the button fall off were just very unlucky.

the pouch inside, what it does have, are 2 thick ridges on either side, which squeeze the phone, as to keep it in place and from falling out. the pouch s very strong indeed.
