Default Curve & Jawbone won't pair?

Please Login to Remove!

Hello everybody, Sorry if this has been posted before, I did a search and didnt come up with any answers.

So my issue, I have a Jawbone bluetooth that was formally paired with a Samsung Rant. I returned the rant and purchased the Curve 8330. I have tried to pair the Jawbone, but the Curve won't regonize it at all. They are inches apart. And I also tried having the Jawbone looke for the Curve. Nothing.

Any help would be great - Thanks!

Does the Curve find the device? Which Jawbone is this 1 or 2. Do the lights flash on the Jawbone red/white which indicates if it's in discoverable mode.

You're not in pairing mode with just red flashing. Hold down the backend of the Jawbone 2 while simultaneously holding down the main button. You should be pushing in from the rear of the JB and also down onto it at the same time. Hold for several seconds, until you see the lights flash between silver and red. It will sync with your 8330, because that is the combo I use. I went through the same issues as you are having, until I went to the Jawbone website to determine how to properly put the Jawbone into pairing mode.

JackG058 is right, you must push both buttons for 2 seconds to be in pairing mode. The light flashes red+white, then enter password: 0000

Let us know if that doesn't work.

ok that didnt work. So I went to the Jawbone site. Apparently I had to reset it. I didnt know they had support on their site.
Here are the steps I had to take to reset it - Just in case anybody else has this issue

1- Press and hold down the Talk Button on the New Jawbone. (It does not matter whether the New Jawbone is on or off.)
2- Connect the New Jawbone to the USB charger cable. (The cable needs to be plugged into an active USB port or to an electrical outlet via the Wall Charger unit.)
3 - Release the Talk Button.
4 - Disconnect the New Jawbone from the USB charger cable

That is good additional information. When I had my issues I tried those steps, but they didn't work for me. That's when I found the steps to put the Jawbone 2 into discoverable mode. Between these two solutions, the Jawbone 2 ought to sync right up with the BlackBerry.

Can't get my Jawbone 2 to enter discovery mode - have tried both methods - pressing both buttons for 2 sec, and reseting.

Does the red-white flash occur quickly? Like red then white right after?

Any further suggestions?

I've tried resetting the jawbone following the instructions and then pressed down on both buttons as directed. I only get a white or a red LED and no flashing. I don't know what else to do. Ideas?

I tried all the above and could not get my jawbone to go into paring mode. Found the below info on the jawbone site, tried it and it worked first time. Scary to do but it was fairly simple.
Carefully remove the outer plastic shield starting at the noise assassin end. It popped off without breaking anything and then I was able to easily press BOTH the noise shield button AND the talk button. With the plastic cover OFF. Apparently the plastic shield can make it difficult to press the buttons. It immediately went into paring mode and the cover easily snapped back on.
