I bought a Blackberry from a Cricket store assuming it would work. I had problems with Cricket's service before the purchase but the service seemed tolerable. But now I have many error messages, dropped calls, poor coverage. I thought I might change to Sprint since the BB was originally a Sprint. But Sprint told me that the phone can no longer be used on their network. This makes no sense to me. Anyway, I feel a bit stuck. Spent $165 for the BB and feel ripped off. Cricket blames all my problems on the BB, Sprint says the phone is unusable on their network, the franchise that sold the phone is stonewalling me.

So I have joined this forum to try to figure out what my options are.

Thanks!

I think the phone had to be flashed to work with Cricket. And I agree with Sprint, once flashed, no going back.

I wouldn't think you got ripped off, I just think you were probably uninformed and didn't do enough homework.

Howard Forums has a Cricket section. Might want to check there.

you can flash the phone back to sprint but you will either have to do it yourself or know someone that knows how because sprint wont flash it back.

If you want to go with Sprint, I'd just buy a new phone and sign up for service.
Cricket is a horrible company to deal with and you would be much happier with any other carrier.

My canned response for this situation is as follows:

"When you have grown-up carriers, the company who makes BlackBerries and the carrier themselves work together to make sure the right software is on the phone and the right server behind the scenes makes everything work right. When you have Cricket, Cricket jumbles everything up to kinda-work part of the time."

Any Cricket Support Group would be through Cricket themselves, or perhaps by some forum like Howard Forums.

Hello, first post in this forum I have a sprint BB curve that I used while stationed in fort Campbell, KY and it worked ok, then I got orders to move to EL Paso, TX and decide to go with Cricket, because my son and my wife had their phones with them, no contract and economical, so I been using them for about 2 months with a flashed to Cricket BB curve and everything works fine, I had it flashed by a friend of mine, he's been doing that for a few, but he's overseas now I asked him if I ever wanted to go back to Sprint could I use the BB again, he says no problem he can re-flash the phone back to Sprint... hope that helps someone, now I have a question can the BB browser be upgraded to a newer version... just the browser, nothing else, he said if I do it with the desktop software that I would loose the flash because it restores the full phone, but he wasn't sure if I could just upgrade the BB Browser by itself, Opera won't work not sure if I had it correctly installed, maybe there are some settings specifically for the BB's, it downloaded and installed but it would not download the pages. Thanks for any positive comments you might have.

I thought Cricket resold other carriers service. You mean they actually have a network of their own???
