Default Help with refurbished Blackberry 7250

Please Login to Remove!

Just picked up a Blackberry 7250 from Factory Direct here in Toronto that works with Bell Mobility. Got the unit working, activated and so forth but I'm kind of stumped regarding the software.

I went to Bell Mobility support and downloaded OS v4.1.0.577, the latest OS I guess for the 7250 (a 37.7 MB file). I managed to install on XP and that into the 7250 but on Windows XP, after installing this software I have basically nothing.

No program group was created, not sync software -- nothing except "loader.exe" and a Rim Device Manager under a Research in Motion, folder which it took time to find and I had to create shortcuts on my desktop to access.

Now the 7250 works well, it communicates with these two apps, but is there not more available for this unit? I have no sync software to use with Outlook, no backup data application -- nothing, just loader.exe and the device manager.

Am I missing something, is there a CD somewhere that installs more Blackberry applications over the 4.1 OS? Apparently using Google, the 7250 seems only to work with 4.1 and under, so I guess if more was available from 4.2 OS and newer --I wouldn't be able to tap on to that stuff.

The big thing, for me, is just to be able to sync up my Outlook contacts to the 7250, actually, even just importing them into the blackberry would be fine.

Any help or info, greatly appreciated.

You need Desktop Manager. Get it here:

You may need to reinstall the OS after installing DM.

Thanks, I'll try that -- but that's what I thought I installed in the first place.\

As I said, the desktop software installed all kinds of things to my Blackberry but almost nothing in Windows except for the device manager and the loader.

I'll try again.

Desktop Manager will install nothing to your BB by itself. I think you installed an OS without the desktop Manager.
