Mine takes about 3-5 min as well. Probably about 2-3 min to boot but then another minute before it is functional.

Mine takes 2 minutes 27 secs to bring me to the icons and login my instant messaging clients. I first noticed a mark improvement in boot time when I did my first OS upgrade on the device. Now that I'm running 5.0.0.348. I am now enjoying the boot up time specified.

I just tested it, took 5 min for me, plus probably another 5 min for it to be usable. I think mine took so long because I have 21 apps plus 3 gigs of music. Do you have a lot of apps or music?

yah im kind of sceptical of the 40 seconds. I mean i just upgraded to OS 5 which has increased boot up time and barely any third party apps installed and it still takes me a good 2-3 minutes...I would really like to know how this is possible..

Very very very slow watch/clock . I was wondering myself. It takes the new BlackBerry splash screen about 90 seconds to get a full progress bar on my Bold 9000.

Same for me. It is directly related to the number of 3rd party apps. It takes a full 7 minutes for my bold.

So maybe the 40 seconds is plausible providing the person has no third party apps.

Well I'm going to wipe my device and see if it comes up in 40 seconds.

Ok, just wiped by device, and installed the 5.0.0.314 OS, and after the initial OS install, I removed the battery and replace. It took 45 seconds for the splash screen to appear.
