Default Any way to speed up the auto-reconcile???

Please Login to Remove!

Hey all, My company uses BES 4.0. We currently have a mix of BB 8800's, 8830's and 7290's. All my users keep asking me if there is a way to speed up the automatic reconcile on the hand-helds. I know they can manually have it reconcile but a lot of them find this to be a bit of a pain. Is there any settings in the BES server I can change to speed this up? I think it's about 20 minutes as it stands but I'd like to get it to reconcile faster if possible. Anyone know of a way?

Thanks!!!

It is a hard coded setting in the software. You won't be able to speed it up.

It runs in a preset system that does more than email reconciliation too. There is a schedule of rescans for most items in your mailbox. If we were able to speed it up, it would probably just begin to interfere with the rest of the rescans.

On Domino, just Full TExt indexing the Mail files and the replicas of the user's personal address books on the server dropped apparent reconciliation time for us from about 45 seconds (between 20 second and two minutes give or take) to about 8 seconds.

I swear that was all I did, and it's running much faster now (reconciling changes to the user's personal address book). Maybe it's just snake oil, but try it if you can (for those on Domino). It was a suggestion RIM gave me when I called them (on our TSupport) and asked for any tips on how to speed up Reconciling.

Which part of the reconciling is taking 20 minutes. Read/unread status from the server to handheld? Deletions from server to the handheld? For us, it seems that anything reconciled from the handheld --> server is near real-time.

noname: I have one user that is like that. He sits in front of his desk with his blackberry in one hand and compares the two.
