Question Code Signing Tool Question

Please Login to Remove!

I'm developing an app for the blackberry 8320, and needed to use some of the secure API. I looked online and in order to use those secure APIs on phone, you need pay for the code signing tool. I paid the $20 for the code signing tool from RIM...and tested it out the first time on the phone and everything was fine. Now i updated the code under the same program, but even if i sign it through the tool, when i test it on the phone...it still says i can't access secure API.

Has anyone ever used the code signing tool? If you have, do you know if every time you update the code, you gotta pay another $20? I'm hoping its just a one time fee.

Thanks.

It is a one-time fee. Place the three files provided in your bin directory under the JDE that you are using. Every time you compile the program (before loading on the phone), you'll need to select Build/Request Signatures and enter your password.

every time the application is updated, you need to sign it and then load it to the device. And for the signing, you can sign your apps several times(several thousand times as RIM says) in just $20.

Please make sure that you are uploading signed .cod file.Just double click the .cod file before downloading to device and if it says "Signed" that means you can upload it.
