I just upgraded to the BES plan on my 8320 from T-Mobile... using 4.5.0.69 OS to connect with my company's network... now, my browser is being blocked by our company firewall no matter where i am :-/
Is this your personally owned device? If so, it seems like you have 2 choices.. not use the company BES, or live with their restrictions. Maybe you can talk to the BES admin and see if they will make an exception for you, but I wouldn't count on it.
you'll have to contact your IT department/bes admin to see if they have exceptions. here, we block all internat access and add people to a group which has limited access.
i was afraid of that, it is a personal device, and i actually just go hired into the IT dept so i am technically an admin ... ill have to check out the restrictions now
Have you tried switching the browser type to "Internet Browser" and not "Blackberry Browser" (see steps for doing so below). I allow access to my users, but most of them don't know how to switch between browsers.
Go to Options > Advanced Options > Browser. Once there, it should list what the default browser configuration is. What does it say? If it says Blackberry browser, see if you can change it to Internet Browser. If you can, then you should now be able to browse any page, if you can't then it means they've blocked it.
I only see, "t-zones" and "HotSpot Browser"... this is strange because we went onto our BES server and saw no restrictions at all... it seems that for some reason my blackberry is just going through our companies proxies and getting blocked that way
When you say you went onto your BES server and saw no restrictions, where did you look?
It sounds like they have assigned you an IT policy that doesn't allow normal internet browsing. If you have access to the BES and Blackberry Manager, you should be able to check this fairly easily.

Change your default browser to 'Internet Browser'. 'Blackberry Browser' goes through the BES, so it hits your firewall/websense/etc. 'Internet Browser' does not.

I already told him to do that, he doesn't have the internet browser option. it's being blocked by his BES. See his post above.
