I manage a single BES Small Business server & just got the full version software because we went over the 15-BB limit. How can I upgrade/migrate with the least pain to me as the administrator?

It appears that I cannot simply enter the new keys, because I cannot remove the last Small Bus. key, and the new key conflicts with that key.

You can't. If you have exceeded the 15 user limit you need to upgrade to an Enterprise BES.

Great nomenclature at RIM: there's the ENTERPRISE Blackberry ENTERPRISE Server & the SMALL BUSINESS Blackberry ENTERPRISE Server...

I was hoping that there might be some way to upgrade from the Small Business Edition of BES that we already have in place to the "full" (i.e. Enterprise) version of BES that we just purchased to replace it... I just need to know how to upgrade from our existing Small Business BES to the Enterprise BES without losing the handheld configurations. I would hate to have to reactivate the 15 that are already in use...

You have to actually uninstall SB BES and then install the full version. Go to the BES Admin Corner forum (look on the main forum page here) and there's a thread in there describing the same thing from about a week or so ago.

You can upgrade from the SBE to the Enterprise. Cost is $800.00 I believe.

read. he already purchased full BES 4.0. he just wants to UPGRADE it on the server from one version to the other, which is NOT possible. it requires an uninstall of the SBE version (and possible removal or registry entries, etc) and then an install of BES 4.0.

Thanks. I will check out that thread. I just hope I don't have to pull all the BB's in for Enterprise reactivation. I've been doing these via USB at the BES.
