My 8300 started slowing down today. It takes a full 60 seconds or more to do anything involving a button like speed dial, hanging up the phone or going to the calendar.
I downloaded the new Epocrates for BlackBerry last week and the phone worked fine. Epocrates is kind of like a Physician's Desk Reference and has been available for years for Palm and handhelds. This is their first venture into the BB marked. I'm wondering though if it slowed me down.
Anybody else use Epocrates? Has it caused any trouble with your phone?
First thing you need to do is pull the battery, wait 30 seconds, then put it back in. If that doesn't appreciably speed up your BB, then go to Options/Advanced Options/Applications-----highlight Epocrates, and delete it.
I had it on my BB but took it off. If your BB is freezing, look at the amount of space you have remaining. If you have alot of other programs on your BB and space is low, it tends to lock up.
I was using Epocrates for years, and after switching to a Blackberry, I was heartbroken that it would no longer work with Epocrates. The 8800 did a wonderful job consoling me though (a bit like Pam Beasley breaking up with me only to hook up with that chick from Chuck).
This is *HUGE* for me, now I get both. At the same time.
The first version slowed down my curve also. The updates were slow too. Last week a new version came out that has fixed all the slow problems I had before. I love the program and runs great on my 8320 with the tmobile .180 and .184 version of the BB OS.
