Default Help with installation software..

Please Login to Remove!

Ok so I installed everything that was on the CD my 8800 came with. This would include ( application loader, back up, email settings, media manager, switch device wizard and sync. ). My problem is when I plug the BB in the usb port and open Application loader it does java and loads.. But says-

"The BB desktop software does not have BB device software for the device
that you have conncected to thecomputer. Contact youre wireless
Service provider or system administrator."

I downloaded Ramble, tried to load it and it says-

"No additional applications designed for your device were found."

I'm on a vista computer if that makes any difference?

You need to download and install the device OS to your PC before you can install any applications using the DM. See:

Good Luck!

Ok, it's a "Cable and Wireless" BB, but I got it unlocked for t-mobile...

So I'm assuming I would choose t-mobile correct?

If your device software version is not 4.2.1.74, then please download and install the most recent software version.

I'm currently running v4.2.1.90 ( platform 2.3.0.72 )

Is this a problem?

The carrier doesn't matter at all. Just get the latest software for your device (links are stickied at the top of each device thread. You will delete the vendor.xml file (which is what makes it carrier specific). Does that make sense?

Yes, but I would stick with a 4.2 release it sounds like they are still working out issues with 4.5

Here is more of a step-by-step on your particular situation that may help:

Wait!! Whoa! My bad! If you just want to load and application and nothing else download the same version that you have. Otherwise, get the latest and upgrade in addition to loading the application.

Sorry!

Ok I downloaded the latest OS from t-mobile, it works and I uploaded ramble onto my phone. But it's saying "bad dns string" anyone care to traslate? I don't have a data package yet but that shouldn't be a problem right?

I'm guessing that the lack of a data plan is the problem. Ramble is for IM, right?? How are IMs sent? Data, right?? Get a legit data plan and see what happens then.

Perhaps Ramble doesn't require data, but certainly Jive Talk and IM+ on the BB do, so...
