Default Help with D/L music (mp3 ?) to 8800

Please Login to Remove!

I've never downloaded music before today. (I don't consider my iPod and iTunes in this conversation as I thought I'd just leave them and their protected rights alone)
So I just want to get a few dozen songs (mp3?) onto my new 8800.
Should I go with Limewire? Rhapsody?
And then do I just download songs to my pc and then copy over to BB ?

Thank you in advance,
Steve

I don't think Limewire has gone legit, so be careful 'cause that's a site the RIAA monitors. And scan everything because it's loaded with virus'. I've never used Rhapsody so I can't comment there. Once you have your mp3 on your computer, use Device Manager to copy them over. It's a very simple process, but makes sure they end up in your "music" folder. Would it be correct to assume you're putting them on a media card? If you want to use them for a ringtone, you'll have to chop them down a bit and put them in your "ringtone" folder.

Default I just went with Limewire

Thank you for your kind reply nimocone.
I just decided to use Limewire. I'm pretty happy so far.
I just ordered a 2.5 mm to 3.5 mm adapter for the 8800 and my iPod earbuds.

I also got a few pictures over and even figured out how to use Google Maps with the GPS.

So I'm good for now.

Thank you again,
Steve

If I remember right, you wouldn't be able to use Rhapsody because the software would not recongize the BB as a supported player due to the DRM stuff. You would have to purchase the songs then copy them to your BB as an MP3.
