Hello all,
So I read on crackberry that you have to set the custom ringers and such but when I do the damn phone at time fires alerts when its not supposed to when in the pouch!
Example:
I set my gmail address to buzz once in the holster and not alert unless out of the holster. It still rings the alert even in holster. I am going to mess with this more today.

Thoughts?

I even tried rebooting the phone. When it is in the pouch it still vibrates once like i set it to in the custom normal profile. However, it still rings.

I also at times will get a different tone firing for my BBM even though i have the same tone set for both BBM settings!

This is frustrating! Anyone else experiencing this? Defective phone?

Yes, many are. Read the thread under "profiles." Many people have experienced that their custom profile is not sticking and it's reverting to the Normal profile.

One person mentioned that after you select your Custom profile you should immediately perform some action (send an email or text) and the Custom profile will stick.

Or, if they didn't say that, that's what I've tried and I *think* my custom ringtones have finally stuck. Haven't checked in/out holster behaviour.

Can you test out holster behavior. Reading that other thread made it clear that profiles are broken for sure!!!

well i could, but i don't use the holster much, and you might get a quicker answer if you tried it yourself.

just set up your Custom profile, send an email message to someone, and then see if your preferences have stuck.

FWIW, I was on a call with a VZW Tech and while waiting for a reboot (!!) I asked him about profiles not sticking and he said they haven't heard of any complaints!

I guess I'll just have to call tech support and ask them to connect me with RIM.

I just got off the phone with Verizon and they are saying it's the case. They had this problem with the curve as well and the regular plastic case works...
