I have noticed that many times in the home screen the new SMS notification changes location. Some times is on the left of the time (to the right of unread emails notification icon) and some other times on the right of the time. The strange thing is that this happens with no change in the configuration of the phone (I use the original theme). Have anybody else noticed that and what might it mean?
Hmmm.. that's interesting.. I also use the original theme of my carrier but never happened to notice this attribute. It could be possible that this feature is of your OEM theme... do a battery pull and install a 3rd party theme.. if the same behavior is noticed then at least you could be sure it is not theme specific.
The notification icons will move slightly when you have more messages coming in, for example if you have say 3 SMS/MMS, 5 Emails, 1 BBM, etc it will show in a string or block depending on how the theme is setup
