I dropped mine several times causing scrapes on the skins, and thankfully not on the device. Each time I needed a new piece they sent me a new one, free. That would have cost me more than the initial $25 I spent on the skins at Shield Zone.

Well yours seems an extremely unusual exception to probably about 99.9% of people. At least for me, if I have one replacement phone in the lifetime that I own a device, that would be unusual. [I have used my past ten phones without incident and replaced them with new models on about 8 months average]. I did have to make a warranty claim on a Pearl that I dropped.
I suspect that that is why they have that guarantee, they know that:
1. Few people will remember that there is a guarantee.
2. Few people keep a device more than about 18 months, so there will be few claims for a skin in the particular skin/devices "lifetime."
3. It's human nature that few people make claims on low priced items. Kind of like those knives on TV. They have a lifetime guarantee because no one remembers how to make a claim, where to send it, etc.
Plus I notice that one still has to pay shipping and handling. That plus postage to them makes it $3.40 to get a new skin. That's about half the price of a BSE skin.
So one is paying $25 for a ShieldZone skin to save $4 in the unlikely event that one makes a claim for a ShieldZone skin within the "lifetime" one is using a particular device and skin.
And this does not even take into account that if I buy three BSE skins for $21 [free shipping on a purchase of that size], I would have two remaining BSE skins to replace on to the Pearl during the "lifetime" that I use it.
