Default desktop manager backup and pictures

does a full desktop manager backup backup all pictures stored on the device? I've got a boss who backed up then ran a security wipe and now the pics are gone. he didn't choose the option to wipe the media card

Did he manually choose the option to backup in the media on the device memory? If not, then the pictures were not backed up.

Help me see what I'm missing here, because Blackberry support (helpful as always) said the same thing about a backup media option. the boss (like me) has desktop manager 7.1.0.32 and there is no option for that. You have Full, Quick and Custom. How does the latest version of their Desktop software not have this option everyone's talking about?

discovered that same version of desktop manager gives you a different screen based on your device. we only have 9700's and one 9900 since everyone's switching. fragmentation.

Well, I don't think that the BlackBerry Desktop Software cannot access the media storage on the 9700.

There's no option when you plug a 9700 in

what probably happened was that the engineers were setting up Full backup (all device data) to automatically backup everything on the device (probably automatically in the background for extra convenience), but Balsillie and Lazaridis heard about it and made them stop. "Nobody cares about backing up media! What's next, virtual keyboards?"

No. As I said, the BlackBerry Desktop Software cannot access the device memory where the media is stored. The 9900 is different.
