Default 8310ATT using as modem

Please Login to Remove!

Is it necessary to sign up for ATT "tethering"plan to us the 8310 as a modem as explained in BBforum how to use BB as a modem.

ATT says yes, seems like it shouldn't be the case, but I don't want to run up big unexpected charges.
