Hi. Our company would like to move to GMail. Does anyone know if the blackberry would work the same as it would from Exchange?
Do we need BES or BIS. Any additional help would be great.

Welcome!
You will need only BIS service for gmail and exchange if you don`t have BES server.

The new BIS 3.0 update was geared to give GMail over BIS some very Exchange-like functionality. It *should* now give full reconcile of read/unread message status and populate your Sent messages folders no matter from where a message was sent.

Thanks. Would the Blackberry get the email (vibrate) as soon as a message is received? Just like from exchange?

You don't. BIS is upgraded by RIM. It's already 3.0.

That is just not true. I am currently on a BES and sync my GMail calendar through BIS for personal reminders. It works very well. Nice plug for your product Astra...
