Exclamation Switching BB Service Providers

Please Login to Remove!

I currently have cell provider A with my 8900 using the A SIM and all is well. I recently got a new BB,8520, with cell provider B and B SIM. I wantto give the new B device to my wife, keep my old A device but put in the new B SIM line. So I pulled the new B SIM from the new device (which was working fine) and slipped it into my old A device, the 8900.

The old 8900 works fine as a cell phone with the new B SIM. I can make and receive calls, but I can't bbm! What must I do?

Update the new IMEI and PIN with the new carrier and battery pull.

Depending on the carrier the Blackberrys may be locked to the original carrier and you wont be able to do that. do a forum search on unlocking a bb and you will see the issues.

Welcome to the forums.

If the SIM slot was locked, you couldn't do voice, either.

If neither BB is locked then what you did should work. the BIS server can arrange the emails for each. your very lucky they were already unlocked.
