Unhappy PIN release Issues

Please Login to Remove!

So I recently bought a blackberry 9700 from somebody from a different provider (Telus). I tried to get data on my blackberry from my own carrier (fido) and data would not work. I called Fido tech support and found out that the PIN for my blackberry is still registered under Telus. Fido told me to call Blackberry directly to have them release the pin, which I tried and the rep told me it was $49 dollars a call to talk to the tech support for blackberry and told me to call Telus directly to get them to release the pin. So, after that I called Telus and they refused to release the pin because they said there was no pin that needs to be released (they asked me to provide account information about the person I bought it off, which I obviously would not have). I tried contacting the person I purchased the blackberry off of but he would not pick up. Is there anyway to get this Pin released or am I just screwed?

Thanks

Default Re: PIN release Issues

Telus will be the one who needs to release the PIN... only them.

You should be able to ask them, but you'll need the previous owner to do so if they won't, as you've experienced. Telus might also not do it IF the previous owner left a balance on the account unpaid.
