Angry Can anyone resolve this PROBLEM!!!!!

Please Login to Remove!

My Blackberry Bold 9000 has a puzzling problem and is as follows.

Like a number of people online my Blackberry has stopped receiving e- mails, but unlike any I have found I still receive e-mails from any accounts registered on my blackberry. So in essence I can happily send e-mails to myself from one account to another on my Blackeberry - just not receive them from any other "external" e-mail addresses.

Please, please help.

Thanks in advance.

That would also block this person from sending to themselves.
This person WANTS to get all mail. Not "Block and Edit".

Thanks but I have already tried the hard re-boot and resending service books, and clearing all caches and registering host tables, but still no joy, I need a brainiac to help me work this one out.

Please explain this. The BB has stopped receiving email but you still receive email? I do not understand the problem. Thanks

What were you doing just prior to the problem starting?

Are you using BIS or BES?

My interpretation, please confirm or correct this:

You can send email from abc to xyz on your BB, and can receive those emails from those accounts on the BB.
However any emails sent to abc or xyz from external other people's account (i.e. a friends account) is not received on your BB?

In response yo your questions - I have 5 email accounts active on my Blackberry, fow work, home and pleasure.

I can send e mails to any external account, but can only receive emails between the 5 accounts registered on my blackberry, not from any external accounts.

Before the problem started the last changes I remember making was to font settings in the phone.

I was registered to use both, but that last statement about BES I will check out again, should be fine though as my brother is on the same business account and his emails are fine.

Final note - when i did send service books from 02, there was an alert about XML not "properly formed" I think?

Yes check if you are on BES, check in enterprise activation to see if anything activated there, if yes please respond to solve accordingly...
Also if nothing is in the EA then you could be on BIS, now call ur service provider's tech depart, and ask them to delete the BIS profile, and have them to create one for u, keep the phone turned OFF....turn it ON and go into email settings and accept the terms, and check, also check if u have desktop [CMIME] in Service books if u see it delete it...

last note: double check the firewall in incomming msgs, and remove all sync applications prior to this cheking...

when u reply please be clear and concise...

regards.

Msiddiqui - thanks for the response - and apologies for the delay in responding, have been away for a couple of days.

I have BES activated on my phone - but not totally sure if my e-mail is routed that way( I assume it would be). I will contact my service provider anyway to check the BIS, but could you please clarify the following:-

The CMIME in service books for all my e-mail accounts are unable to be deleted due to firewall settings - is this how they are supposed to be?

And how do I remove the Sync applications.

Thanks again for your help and would appreciate any further response.

I feel your pain. This can be very confusing. You should not be prevented from deleting your service books unless you are using a corporate issued Blackberry with some IT policies/restrictions applied.

Can you answer the following questions for me?

1. Is this a corporate-issued Blackberry?

2. The e-mail accounts in question: were they added using the Blackberry.net Personal Email Setup on the device?

3. What happens if you try to delete the service books for each e-mail account? You'll need to delete all entries prefixed with the e-mail address.

4. Have you tried to login to the Personal E-Mail Setup and request all service books be resent to your device? Do do that, login and click the BB Menu button, then select Service Books and click on Resend.

Regards,
Rob

Hi Rob,

To answer your questions -

1 it is not a corporate Blackberry so no IT policy involved.

2 I used the personal email setup for all e mail accounts.
If I go to O2 my BIS provider I can delete each email account which removes the service book
and account from my handset. I have then re instated the account and resent service books but with no success.

3 I can delete the CICAL service books but not the CMIME.

Still puzzled as to which way to turn - but please keep the assistance coming, I need to sort this desperately

So are you on a BIS or BES? You keep answering questions with contradictory statements making it very difficult for anyone to help

Ringer, the last post by fishonsprings seems to make it clear it is not on a BES.
1. its not issued by a company
2. used the personal email setup icon, BIS page.

Thanks for all your responses - I have now resolved this issue - which unfortunately involved a complete handheld wipe, before which I had to back up to desktop manager.

The e mail now works fantastically but I cannot connect to my desktop manager as it does notr seem to recognise my handheld....... any thoughts?????????

Try uninstalling and reinstalling desktop manager.
