Default Redirector Problem: Messages in mailbox not being deleted...

Please Login to Remove!

If I read and reply to a message on the handheld it is correctly marked as read and replied to in my Outlook mailbox, but, if I read or delete a message on the handheld it is not being marked as read or deleted in my Outlook mailbox (I specified on the BB that the message should be deleted on the handheld and in the mailbox).

I have verified that when I read and/or delete a message on the handheld a message is received and processed by the redirector software on the PC but the message in the mailbox is not marked as read or deleted.

I edited the registry on my PC to have redirector debug information written to a file but the output doesn't suggest what is wrong. When I deleted the message on the handheld the following was logged by the redirector:

Quote:
Queuing new mail through notification (external). EntryId=14
Get record key for this MAPI object, EntryId=14
Queuing new mail through notification. EntryId=14. Msgs Pending 0
Queuing DATA from [email address], Tag=-139463169, EntryId=14
Receiving packet from device, size=98, TransactionId=787080539, Tag=-139463169, content type=CMIME, cmd=0x3
...
Receiving OTAFM request from device, Tag=-139463169, TransactionId=787080539
Received OTAFM command from user with server disabled.
Sending OTAFM_CONFIG to device, ServerSupport=0, UserConfig=0, Conflict=1
...
Sending message to device, Size=102, Tag=656, TransactionId=-1001227027
Sent ETP::DATA to BlackBerry system, Tag=656
Sent ETP::STATUS to BlackBerry system, Tag=-139463169
Has anyone had this problem and figured out how to fix the problem?

Thanks for any help,
Gordon

Default re

I'm assuming that after you have read/deleted/moved the message, you are performing a sync operation (as redirector will not allow you to do it wirelessly).

If this is the case, and it's only working in 1 direction OR not at all OR some things work and some don't,

on your blackberry

1) go into Configure PIM
2) click on Configure Reconciliation
3) click the radio button - "synchronize moves and deletes"
4) select the radio button for which should win incase of a conflict
5) Personal folder should be left to "none"

THEN

1) goto redirector settings
2) click on 3rd tab (security)
3) select the radio button to "Generate Keys Manually"
4) click on generate
5) move mouse around until completed
6) click apply
7) click ok
8) close out of redirector

THEN

send yourself a few emails and test if it's working - REMEMBER, you MUST sync after each change ie - read on bb <sync> marked as read in outlook. Delete/Move on BB <sync> deletes and moves in outlook.

Hope this helps.

Thanks, my problem was that I assumed the Redirector supported syncing of deleted/read messages wirelessly since it supported wirelessly syncing of messages that had been replied to.

After enabling syncing of the mailbox in Intellisync it works fine (when I connect the BB to the PC).

Thanks

Default trying redirector

So, is there a primer on redirector that highlights what features are available, and how to configure?

is the redirector, the same as the desktop software?

I want to be able to run a desktop at work, accessing our exchange server and have the mail directed to my blackberry, but I ALSO want it to be synchronizing the mail and changes I make on the blackberry.

Is this done in real time?
