A QQ - Is OTASL realized in BES 4.1.5 already?

The functionality is there, but it isn't enabled on RIMs side. Some magic switch needs to be flipped.

Oh its there ... just can't do anything with it:

BlackBerry Domain > All Users > Right click a user ...

View / Upgrade Software
Revert Software Upgrade

Also if you bump up the MNGR log in BES 4.1.5 you will see the following:

Seems like RIM removed it from SP6 again.

On the BlackBerry device itself there are application modules called "rim_bb_otasl_app" and "rim_bb_otasl_channel" and "rim_ota_upgrade". These seem to be the client-side upgrade tools.

In the BESMgmt database is see the following intresting tables:
dbo.DSUPAvailable
dso.DSUPBundleInfo
dso.DSUPDefaults

They are for sure used to storage device update package information

hi, i had to upgrade BES from 4.1.4 to 4.1.6 today, and i see that the
"View / Upgrade Software Revert Software Upgrade" desapear !!

Anybody knows why?

The feature has not been enabled by RIM yet.
Even if you had that option, you couldn't use it anyway.

I changed mine in the registry.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Research In Motion\BlackBerry Enterprise Server\Logging Info\Manager
