Default Help me understand

Please Login to Remove!

Why is it that when I send an email from my BlackBerry Bold (yes, I just upgraded on Sat from the 8310 Curve) It says Sent using (and it has my email address), but the From field has the word Work. Where can I change that to my name. I'm on a BIS.

Help me understand WIFI. I have an unlimited data plan and use my browser to access the internet. Where does WIFI come in and how is it beneficial because I always have internet access?

Thank you.

Yes, actually, you are referring to your signature. Your BB will attach that tag line or signature to every outgoing email message you send.

WiFi is good if you're out of network coverage or if the network is bogged down and overloaded. Otherwise, with the unlimited BIS plan it's no big thing. I never use WiFi myself.

I'm ok with the tag line/signature saying Sent via BlackBerry by AT&T. I am referrring to the top of the email where its says To: From: Date:. My From says Work instead of my email address or my name.

Ah, that's a horse of a different color! Go to Options > Advanced Options > Default Services and change the email to your current choice. Then the new email account you set will come up as the default.

Alternately, you could simply compose an email and at the top where it says Send Using [Default], you could click on that and change it to whatever accounts you have activated. It's no substitute for changing the default email account but at least you can send from another account besides the default one if you have the need, without going through the hassle of changing the default back and forth for a single email.

Thank you. One other thing; when I make a call or receive a call my number shows up on the right side. How do I fix it so "my number" does not show up.

Yes it is...
Click the green call button, click menu-options-general options
go down to show "my number": and change from yes to no.

That does not correct the OP's issue. I have that option set, and my number does not show when I start to dial a number, but it still shows whilst in a call.

Weird. I changed it from yes to no a while back and my number doesn't show during a call (incoming or outgoing).

Actually, I just tested this, as I believe that it wasn't showing my number when on a call;
and you're right, it does show on the right....
but doesn't for incoming call, nor on dialing from home screen.

That seems so stupid.
If you set that option to No, it shouldn't show it at all...
