I'm on the .162 version and everything so far seems to be hunky dory for me (touchwood) it seems to find 3G and hold on to it longer than before i've noticed, ESPECIALLY when opening web pages the browser doesnt hang it just downloads it rather sharpish!
Brilliant OS so far - wonder if the bold will ever step up to 4.7.0.xxx... Food for thought...

Holy Smokes!!! I can't believe the difference using OS .162 makes! It's like an entirely different animal. First, it's snappierxxx8482;. It wasn't bad before, but this is über smooth and quick. Memory management is incredible too. I've got 51 MB free now whereas before I usually had 34 MB or so. Plus there doesn't seem to be much memory leak. No freezes or restarts needed in a couple of days, and before I was either pulling the battery every other day or I would have some kind of WSOD episode. They were all recoverable with a restart or two (or sometimes three) but Blackberrys shouldn't do this. Now mine doesn't.
Today I stopped by the local AT&T store, which is a good one and has two or three very knowledgeable reps. They're tuned in as far as new products, they know iPhones and Blackberrys, and seem like general phone geeks. One female rep had the iPhone but has ditched it and says she's waiting for the Bold. Word is "end of the month" but they've been hearing exactly that for 3 months now. I whipped out my Bold and created quite a stir among the staff. Last time I was there was to port my T-Mobile number to AT&T, and my Nokia E71 caused a little commotion as one of the reps is an S60 fanatic and loves Nokias. They remembered me from that, and the Bold caused a similar stir this time, but bigger. I think I should get at least an assist for selling one customer a Blackberry Curve. He was there for an iPhone, but after hearing that there were no MMS messages and no copy/paste, and after playing with my Bold for a minute or so, he bought the Curve. Didn't want to wait for the release, and the rep told him that if it's the end of this month he can just exchange it - he'll be within the 30 day grace period. So he walked out with a shiny new red 8310 and my PIN number and the web address of this forum in case he has questions.

Surely 4.7 will be specifically for Touchscreen BB's, a bit like the new version of Symbian for the Nokia Tube 5800. |

Upgraded to .162 and from a battery pull my best free memory went from 37MB to 51MB!! It never seems to drop below 45MB. No need to clear the browser cache or use the less than effective memory cleaner.
Rock solid and stable so far.

been using .162 for a few days and upgraded to .167 found no significant improvement aside from trivial things like 'no more instant messaging folder', but overall I see .162 as more stable than .167

Good gosh, yes. Upgrade now. Don't delay. Seriously... upgrade.
By the way, there is no reason to wait for a Rogers approved version of the OS. Any carrier's OS (for the Bold) will work on your device. Nothing wrong with waiting, just no reason.

Memory management in .162 is worth the upgrade all by itself. With .162 my memory never gets lower than about 45 MB whereas with .125 it had gotten down to 9 MB once, and routinely got down to around 12 MB after 2 days of use without resetting. The new memory management in off the hook!

I've upgraded my OS from .126 to .162,
Better memory,battery looks good,appears faster!

I just updated to .162 from rogers. How is everyone getting 50+mb of free application memory? I just finished and came out with 35mb. which is much better than the 2.9mb or less that I had in .125 either way, I don't feel a difference other than gaining a instant messaging folder. woopty doo. Will report back on battery and 3G signal as I continue to test |

how can I downgrade from os 4.6.0.369 to a lower version of os 4.6.0.365. The program simply denies to perform any function when I try to use the loader. Im really getting nuts.  |

Not sure what you are using as the latest I know of is 4.06.0.219 so you are way ahead of any of us. I have had no issues with 219 so far.

Although the poll is certainly dated, the discussion is relevant. I'm currently on .185 and it's been solid as a rock with no missing features or bugs. MUCH improved battery life over .125 as well. But it's nearing the time for an update to something more recent. I hesitate to do anything - I'm a "if-it-ain't-broke-don't-fix-it" kind of guy. I'm waiting for some new feature to convince me to update.
