I have the BlackBerry 8800 on o2 (UK Pay & Go)

My maps do not work and I've followed all of the instructions this far. I've called o2 3x today and each person has said something different... but the final guy said I need a contract.

Surely there is a way around this. I mean I'd be paying £X per month only for maps?

Any ideas?
