Default USB Port Jammed

Help!

I noticed today that my blackberry pearl [8100] had not charged from the previous night. I went to plug in my Pearl into the cable that is connected to the wall. The battery icon that shows when it is not plugged in would not change to the normal lightning bolt when it was plugged in. To my surprise, I looked at the USB Port on the side of my phone to find out it was jammed inside and the side of the cable that plugged into my phone would not stay in.

My question to you is: Will I be able to get a new Blackberry Pearl if I take it to a local AT&T store?

Please help!

Thank you for your time,
Matt

welcome to the forums. that will likely be considered physical damage and not covered under manufacturer warranty. It never hurts to try. Since you have the pearl you may want to look into upgrading to another device if possible.

Ahhh. I knew it. How would I come across getting another phone? Would I just have to buy a new one and call up AT&T so they can allow me to use that new phone?

you can do that. always try the carrier store first, it may be cheaper there, especially if you can upgrade and/or extend your contract. you may also check the buy sell trade forum on this site. if you are going to try ebay/craigslist/etc you should read Buying a BlackBerry off eBay - BlackBerryFAQ
