Did they take a screen shot showing the network lock as inactive?

I guess Sprint doesn't have the overseas GSM network in place like Verizon has, so the GSM portion is unlocked to allow users to use a local SIM.

No screen shot I'm aware of. I did see a blurb somewhere that Sprint would have agreements with various vendors abroad.

I definately liked the $149.00 price he referenced....hope it's true.

is it just me or was that 'article' severely biased? A lot of the features listed for the sprint 8830, the VZW 8830 has.....

Verizon doesn't have a GSM network overseas.

Does anyone know where it's actually being sold? I've called everyone around my little neck of the woods that seemed to be good candidates, and they're certain they don't have it. I can't even Google it successfully.

It is only being sold through business channels and the top 500 retail stores in the nation. The launch date for the consumer market (rest of the retail stores) is July 15th.

True, but they have a network of telcoms they work with, such as Vodaphone for overseas purposes.
