Question Which Blackberry to Buy?

Please Login to Remove!

Greetings,

It has been quite awhile since I've surfed to forums. Well I hate to only show up when there are problems but this one I feel it's time. I've had an unlocked Blackberry Curve since day one. Well today the trackball fell out and it it time to upgrade. My question is do I upgrade to a unlocked storm, the new curve, or the blackberry bold?

I've been with a blackberry since the 7500 series and had to adjust to the trackball but did. I'm thinking that it is the same way with the storm. I used my blackberry for everything. (6 e-mails, texts, pics, video, mp3 player and oh yeah a phone)

Any help from people that have went through this transition would be greatful.

Sincerely,

i'd pick the bold again, no doubt.

i'm in a situation similar to yours, having the bold and the iphone 3g. it's always horrible switch to the iphone, simply because all this "touch here and there" stuff is so different from the bold. well, i wouldn't pick the storm - the bold hasn't all this touch screen stuff and simply rocks.

Since you're on T-Mo I would suggest the 8900. It is a nice step up from your current device in terms of functionality, in a form factor that you are used to, and is a bit better suited to your media needs.

After trying the unlocked Storm on T-Mo for a few days, it was probably one of the worst BB devices I have ever used (imo). I do ALOT of emailing/texting and was so frustrated with the lack of keyboard that I was waiting until I could get to my machine to respond-which pretty much defeated the purpose of having/using a blackberry.

I'm using the Bold now, and while its a great device, I just personally like the 8900 better especially since you're going to be on a network where it's 3G functions will be useless to you. hth.

Wirelessly posted (Its All About the U!)

You really can't go wrong with an 8900 or 9000 depending on your carrier

I have both - actually all three - and love the 8900. With T-Mobile, WiFi and UMA, it works really well for me. The Bold is great - particularly if you are on AT&T, but I like the 8900s smaller form factor (and more application memory) better. The Storm is used to llow people to see it and try it before they decide. I decided "NO".

Thanks for all the great information and responses. I am now leaning towards the 8900. The only thing is I hate the fact that my trackball fell up because it makes a lot of the applications useless until i can get another. I'm in the military in the field in the middle of nowhere! I was thinking that would change with the storm but like stated in this forum I type a lot on my blackberry and not wanting to would not be an option.

More questions...
1. My Blackberry curve is an 8310 from ATT so is it not 3G because I use it for tmobile unlocked?

2. I bought this one because the first curve for tmobile did not have gps. Does the 8900?

3. What would be the difference between an unlocked bold 9000 and a 8900?

Sorry to ask simple questions but I'm limited as to what I can surf down here and I chose a forum...lol
