60 seconds is as short as it can be via a setting.

Can you tell me how to set that? Do I need to install the third party software mentioned below or is there something built in?

THanks.

I just want to lock the keys so it doesn't make phone calls in my pocket. So you have to push * and the green phone symbol. I don't want to put a passcode on it.

This was already set for 2 minutes but it doesn't seem to ever do it. It seems to lock itself randomly sometimes but not regularly after 1 minute of inactivity.

set a quick key for it.

Options -- Screen/Keyboard -- Right/Left Side convenience key

That's what I do. My wife was sick of getting phone calls of me walking down the street. Just hit a side key before you put it on your pocket/briefcase/whatever.

SO there isn't a built in way to lock the keypad automatically when the phone goes idle? Is everybody sure of that? My old blackberry used to do it sometimes but i couldn't figure out what triggered it (or if it was just a really long delay). Ever since I replaced my handset (same model) it doesn't do it anymore...

Thanks.

Hold the mute button on top of the Pearl to put it on standby mode before putting it in your pocket. The Autolock is a great app. as well.

What about the AutoLock app?

I've been using it for a while and found it really convinient. You can find it in the Geek & Proud website and there you can find there an OTA link.

The autolock app does exactly that and works as good as any oem built-in app.

Personally, I just use the mute key to put it in standby.
