Yeah, that's what I see.

So the consensus here is that there's no way to have the Call Log as a separate folder on the Home Screen or "ribbon?"

Sigh. I wonder if the BB folks will remedy this. It's such a basic thing. And the Curve had easy one-click access to the Call Log from what I've been told.

I think the one-click access you have read about is what was discussed before
green call button - log
not full call log.

This is, unfortunately for your needs, the way the BB works.

no no no - the call log history as a separate entity is still there! do not distress

go the __ folder and you will see a phone in ghost (=hidden). unhide it and put it on your home screen! it's a great way to JUST see a call log, no other garbage. and even if you were to go to the messages icon and delete stuff, the call log will still store everything. it's great.

hope that helps!

as i mentioned in your other post
this is no different than pressing the green call button.
it is not a full log like in the view folder - phone call logs that the OP is looking for.

Default Call Log can be on Ribbon

You CAN have the Call log on the main screen ribbon! It has to be located in the first 6 icons on the blackberry menu page. You can change the order by clicking the BB button and select move. Note - You have to be sure the Icon is not hidden. To unhide icon click on the BB button and select unhide then it will show on your main ribbon

I have a separate Icon for my call log, but haven't figured out how to separate calls into Dialed, Missed, Received like I had in my BB Pearl

i did the options thing to look for hidden icons. and nothing was checked to indicate hiddon icons. so how does one get the phone icon to display so that phone calls and messages aren't using the same logged icon?

i also installed facebook. but no icon.

I guess I don't see an advantage to taking up one of my icons for a function which I can access with one-key (the green talk key). The list is exactly the same.

On my phone, the icon is under the Applications folder.

apparently it's differernt with each phone. the curve automatically has it there. tour and storm done away with it.

i have also noticed some programs don't work on certain phones. i use that microsoft program for traffic jams and movies. it don't work on the tour. and i've tried both 4 and 5 on both phones. curve works no problem. tour just won't work. on either software

If you're talking about the call log icon, I have a Tour for work and the icon is there under applications on mine. Maybe it's OS version? I'm on 4.7.1.40.

I have my call log set to NONE, so messages populate my Message folder.

Call log appears as explained here.

And, don't forget Alt-P. This gives you the detailed call log in chronological order like it would if you had the phone log set to "All Calls" and never deleted any.

I didn't see this mentioned in the thread.
