I have not been here for many moons but have come back to blackberry with the 10 series. There is one flaw here that is a deal breaker and I can not believe that they left this out.. fatal flaw. There is no setting for notification in text while in a call. I can have to be able to hear when people are texting, I can not stare at the phone for a little LED blink. EVERY smartphone on the market has a tone so you know you have something coming in. Called RIM last night and have confirmed that its not there. Anyone know of an APP that may do that? Love the device but it's a deal breaker for me and will have to return it. That is insane that they left that off a phone that is often used for professional use. If I miss a text, I am missing an emergency that I need to attend to immediately.

Any ideas ?

AFAIK there are no plans to have this implemented. Have seen a number of complaints confirming this feature is still wanted.

Wow, that is really a deal breaker which is a shame. I looked at third party apps and did not see anything that would do that. I have never seen a smart phone not have that feature, i have an android and an iphone as well but prefer blackberry for my work phone. Anyway to get them to put it back in there like on all their other devices?

There have been a number of requests on BlackBerry Support Forums, and I am posting to Reddit to see if any BlackBerry employees can pass along the information to their product team(s)

Thank you. I think that there is actually no function to make the tone. I have had blackberry devices since early 2000 and I have never had one that did not have the notification. I dont think that an app can do it until the programmers actually make the function. It has gotten me into trouble twice today already missing stuff. Overall i think that this is the best thing that RIM has done, gorgeous device, I can not understand how they overlooked this. I have to take it back in a few days if there is no fix coming.
