Default Call for a quick PocketDay Beta...

Please Login to Remove!

All,

We will take the 1st 20 responses for beta testing a new version of pocketday. We need 10 people from the US and 10 international pocketday users.

We have a new Weather service with a new 7-day look, 48-hour detailed forecast, radar and satellite images, and have a new look to our email, calendar and task screens that make them in-line with the new BB 4.5 operating system.

Please email [email address] with your BB model, OS version and your location.

Thanks,

-crs

Everything in beta seems to work. The radar doesn't move which I assume was the expectation. Great job.

Love the new weather details! but now I can't get international weather...

UPDATE international is working now! Uses new city codes, have to use "look-up" feature.

Same here, no radar or satellite images, everything seems okay once locations are "re-loaded" through location search.

The number of cities covered seems to be more extensive.

However, I have not been able to display any "Satellite Images" for the various international cities I have tried (all non-US); just a small red "x" is shown in top left hand corner of screen (I assume an image placeholder).

The "Refresh Weather", "48-Hour Forecast" and "7 Day Forecast" all work without any hitches.

Edit :
Forgot to mention that it would be nice if you had the capability for the weather to cycle through the various cities after a pre-defined period.

It must be something they are tweaking with their servers.

Like the new weather details a lot better. Kinda of miss the 7 day all on one screen though. Otherwise, no problems noted as yet.

Downloaded beta & things work great. I do miss the 7 day on one screen though. What changes were made in the calendar & task screens?

We've updated the beta to correct the international satellite images. Just download again for those participating in the Beta.

Calendar / task screens (if you are using the pocketday internal versions) have a nicer look / feel to match BB OS 4.3/4.5

tallen269, did you go into weather settings and reset your locations?

Installed the beta over 5.2.1 - and weather is working fine. I did not have to change any location settings (or any other settings for that matter)

No issues seen at this point.

Satellite Images are now working for all of the various international cities I have setup (i.e. within UK, Europe, Africa, India). The images themselves only appear to take up approx 2/3rd's of the total space available. Nevertheless, you are able to zoom 1:1 to fill the space.

Upgraded to latest. Also have 3 preset locations to check weather on - home, Jackson Michigan, Nashville, TN. Everything seemed fine with weather info for home. Switched to Jackson, MI, no weather info is displayed, the app's peformance went to a crawl. Switching back to home weather restored both. Same thing occurs when switching to Nashville weather.

I have five presets, and I am able to freely switch among the five with no such slowdown.

I like the new task/event dialog boxes for editing. Much nicer and cleaner look and feel.

Reinstall the software again and I think you will be okay.

I'm having trouble switching between locations too. It just doesn't seem to change. One suggestion for the weather: you may want to change the date updated format to MM/DD/YY and time so it all fits on the screen. Right now I can only see "Mon 24 Mar, 2008 12:..."
