I have been trying to get a gmail account to use free phone call with my new playbook;but only the Email(gmail)OK,free phone call never be set up.Is it true,playbook not support gmail free phone call?

I'm not sure I understand what you are asking but the PlayBook is not a phone and doesn't have any phone function.

PC not a phone either,but if you have Gmail account that can make pone call or video chat.Thank you anyway.

The OP makes a good point. The Playbook has dual microphones and speakers...it has all of the hardware necessary to support voice calls.

I too had wondered why Gmail's phone function isn't supported on this device.

Because google is not focusing on development for BlackBerry.

I found out blackberry doesn't take anything..skype, gmail call ,video chat.I am some kind of regretting to buy smartphone, tablet ..from Blackberry.

It's always good to research any device before buying if you want to ensure you get the features and apps that you need.

My understanding is that this calling functionality isn't supported on any mobile device. The issue isn't specific to Blackberry.

Folks seem to forget that the PlayBook was designed to compliment a BlackBerry by connecting to it (bridging) via bluetooth. RIM has added some stand-alone functionality but the PlayBook's original function limits how much they can add.
