Bought a Playbook early last month. Was "open box" (ie returned). Went thru the normal setup process and downloads. Now just inderone month later s popping up a request for Blackberry ID and pasword and is for a userid I do not know. I tried my Blavckberry net user id and password but am told must be the one used to set up machine. I can CANCEL but it pops up again in 5 minutes. Suspect is from the original owner who returned it ...

Had not encountered this until today and have had zero problems with the unit prior to this.

Does anyone know why is is only now asking for this password over three weekes after I purchased it?

Does anyone know how to get around this? Can I contact someone to find out who this ID is and get the password?

If do you a secure erase of the PB, you will be able to enter your ID or create a new one during the setup process.

save all your personal data, if you have any before erasing.

Secure wipe (eg "De-brick") or reset your password to see if it will ask you to reenter your password.

Sadly this sounds like the issue I have on my PB. Mine is more of a "playbook all of a sudden shuts off and battery claims to be 0%" but after this happens I can no longer authenticate with AppWorld.

return the open box product and buy a brand new one... I have a feeling there had to have been some major manufacturing issues at some point.
