Question about theme...

Okay, so on the tourch, you have your fav, recent used, all etc (as youre swiping left and right) and you can also hide or half show or fully show all the icons up and down (if that makes sense)... is there a way to disable this? To just have a row of icons (like the 9700)? I feel that there is just too much going on / too much room to accidentally hit something you dont want too.
