Default Email Problems

Please Login to Remove!

New 8830 just activated yesterday. Store set me to internet only setup but I had alltel change it to blackberry enterprise activation. Now, I have full capabilities but NO EMAIL! My BB 8830 wont allow me to set up a new account. No prompt and it is not in the setup wizard. The setup wizard gives two options...skip or exit email setup or use the blackberry enterprise server option. I have a bellsouth.net company email addressn at my office and need this email regularly during the week! Any suggestions or backdoors into email account setup or anyway to get my email....Brian

If you are trying to receive email via company BES did you have your BES Admin do an Enterprise Activation? If not call them and have it done. If you are trying to set-up BIS then:

You can try Menu>Options>Advanced Options>Host Routing Tables>Menu>Register Now.

Do you see the option after? Have you tried a battery pull?

You can set it up via PC. Go to you carriers BIS site:
Where can I log into my BIS account? - BlackBerryFAQ

Good Luck!

Default okay........

Its not a company email, i mistated that, it is a personal email. Im an investigator for 7 attorney's and utilize a bellsouth.net amil addy for my contacts with them. Just tell me if you can how to set up a new account on the 8830 if you can please. I do not understand why it is so complicated. I just switched from a htc touch which was terribly easy to setup but a piece of crap software wise. A previosu moto q was easy to setup. If I can just get a new account setup I can do the rest...it just does not give me that option....brian

Wirelessly posted (Verizon 8830)

You are using BIS also known as Blackberry Internet Service. Look closely at the post above you.

Default gotcha now........

I tried to create a new account with bis and was told an account already existed for this pin. How can I get my pin cleared? Thus being able to clear up this problem?

Login to the account you previously created do not create a new one. Use the username that you chose for email as the username along with your password. The username is the first portion of the email address "Joe.Smith@carrier.blackberry.net"

If you didn't already set up email the device is not new. In either case if you can't remember your login you will have to call the carrier and have them reset it.

Good Luck!

Default I should have done this from the start.....

called alltel and they changed me from enterprise to personal. Then they reset everything and even set up my email and set me up on BIS at the same time in about 3 minutes. It works awesome! Thanks for the help guys!

Why did you have them change it to Enterprise? Just curious?

Glad that it's working!

Default When I got it yesterday my local store put me on basic

whatever that is because I had the full meal deal on my htc touch. Anyway, I found I didn't have a browser at all later in the day. I called them to have them change my account yesterday afternoon and the operator, not tech support, changed it to enterprise for some reason. I didn't know any better....shoulda been personal all along and Alltel Tech support helped me a ton!

Sounds like the local store got you started on the wrong foot.
Glad phone support fixed it.
