Question Screen Of Death

Please Login to Remove!

My BB Bold 9000 screen suddenly became white after viewing latest X box games preview from You tube, I tried JL Cmder to reset back to factory preset and load again the OS but didn't work. Was it infected with virus or the LCD screen snap out?

Help me out

For sure it isn't a virus as there are none known to be attacking the BB. If so, it would be all over the news.

By "didn't work" what do you mean? You couldn't load the OS or you got the white screen again?

Yes I loaded the OS successfully and updated it. On the BB desktop software I have a back up and successfully restored it, but the screen is still all white. If it is not a virus then it might be the hardware problem: graphics? video? my unit is exactly 1 year now. Is this a design problem?

Thanks for the reply

Did it happen to get wet or damp recently?

This problem happens on pretty much any computer-related device. Something happens and you suddenly canxxx8217;t scroll up or down, or click on anything. Itxxx8217;s annoying, but there are actually two ways to fix it. You can perform a soft reset, which is done by pressing the ALT + CAP + DELETE keys on your handheld at the same time. If this doesnxxx8217;t work, perform a hard reset. This is done by finding the RESET button at the back of the handheld. Sometimes, this button might be near the bottom, under the battery cover. Press the RESET button using a pin or paper clip. With either method, you shouldnxxx8217;t lose any data.

BlackBerrys haven't had RESET buttons in many years. The article you copied is VERY old.

Just in case you dont know, pulling the battery will do a reset. It's a common fix for a lot of things. Even old posts.

Not retarded, just made a simple mistake while trying to help someone with a problem. Keep reading and helping, just remember to double check the post info before you respond. (Did the same thing myself one time)
