Nice job guys. That's how you welcome a new member.
Sorry jj, I can't help you simply because I don'y know the answer but generally you will find MOST of the members of this forum quite helpful and welcoming. Guess the best way to get those post-count numbers up when you have nothing useful to say is to say something smart-alecky and unhelpful.

This is actually inaccurate. When they make the announcement, they will probably provide a release date, and THAT date is when it will be available, NOT "when AT&T and RIM make the announcement"...
Just wanted to clarify.....

I work for att and currently i have no launch dates for the new pearl.
i do know the 8820 is comming out on the 20th and the new 8310 (2 different colors red, titianium) is set for 10/4 |

I just switched to SunCom and they informed me that they would be getting the Pearl2 sometime before the end of the year. In a break from what is normally the case, this employee actually seemed to know what she was talking about. But I did find it surprising that a regional carrier would know they were getting it before national carriers have announced.
Too, I was told this before the announcement that T-Mobile would be taking over SunCom. That may or may not have anything to do with it.

coming out tomorrow????
hello everyone, im new to the forums as well8-) , and well i dont have the bbp yet i was waiting for the pearl 2 to come out, i have a friend that works for AT&T and she said that there were rumours that the new BB Curve 2 and the Pearl 2 were to be released tomorrow the 24th of september, (2007) still dunno the price range but if its true thats coming out for AT&T since im doing my change from sprint to them i will surely get the pearl 2,: now i dont know what they've said about the 3.2 mp camera:? but what she said it was that it would be 2 megapixels, anyways lets all hope its true for the sake of peace!!!! im talking to my self now, i cant sleep thinking of the darn phone!!!!

well you dont have to be an @$$ about it, im just repeating what i heard at the AT&T store this afternoon since i went looking for phones cus i was determined to buy me the pearl 1, but she told me to wait at least 3 more days to get the latest one, hey she is a manager, i have no idea if its true, again IM JUST REPEATING WHAT I HEARD THIS AFTERNOON..

I am merely calling out that I think this is a rumor.
Or, more accurately, BS.
If the Pearl 2 - which isn't even rumored - comes out tomorrow, I promise to come back to this thread and apologize to you.
The 8820 came out last week. No way another new BB is coming out to AT&T tomorrow.

Any rumors as to what the BB Pearl 2 would have that the current one doesn't? The only thing I'm a little disappointed about the current Pearl is no video recording, and no voice recording capabilities. I did purchase the VR+ voice recording software, and it works great. It allows you to record, then send the recording as an attachment, and the attachment comes in as an mp3; cool little program. Aside from that, I love my Pearl.

See this is why im still holding back to get the BB phones, i've always liked the Voice Memo and the CamCorder is always aprecciated, my old phone which is a crappy sanyo MM8300 was able to record the first 6 minutes of my son's first little breaths the day he was born, and also have alot of memo recordings, so yeah its a down side that those 2 lil things arent included on the BB phones, again like i said before, im new to the forum but for over a couple weeks i've been doing research and finally today when i went to the store determined in getting one i had to hold back, i just really hope that if not tomorrow at least sometime soon the new versions come out, i will be thrilled if they had these two things we love the most, camcorder & memo, now i was wondering, could you record an mp3 sound or music or whatever mp3 file or video in to a ringer???? please anyone reply... Thanks
