Default Chat products with the demise of VeriChat

Please Login to Remove!

I've used VeriChat for years, but now that Nokia/Intellisync has bought PDAapps and you can no longer buy VeriChat (although mine is still working), I'm trying out other chat products. I'm using the trial versions of Yak On (purchase price of $19.95) and IM+ (purchase price of $49.95), both which appear to operate the same - except that Yak On uses the Enter key to send the message and IM+ requires you to click and select Send. Can anyone think of why one would pay $49.95 when you can get the same general functionality for $19.95?

Any other products that might be worth checking out?

roybeasley: IM+ also uses the Enter key to send messages. Its benefit is file transfer. Also an important thing for me - free frequent updates.

...and it's better battery life. I've heard that Yak-On still hasn't figured this particular feature out (of course, I must admit, it's been a while). All in all, none of them are perfect. I'd stay clear of subscription-based clients, though (no offense to WebMessenger or VeriChat).

I've been using IM+ for about 6 months and have been very happy. My only complaint is that if I leave it running in the background for more than a couple of hours I have to log out and then back on before I can send any messages. Other than that, a very nice application.
