Got tired of waiting and bought my Bold from eBay
Please Login to Remove!
item 330264558477. Even offering to pay more for overnight shipping! <vbg>
I know of two people using a Bold on the ATT network with no problems. I even used one of these for two days and they work perfectly on the ATT network. Not a problem with RIM or ATT blocking the PIN.
It was either this or God forbid buy a iPhone 3G!

You maniac! But hey, I certainly understand that when you gotta have it, you GOTTA have it! I'd have done the same thing if I didn't recently purchase an 8820 to hold me over. It's only the newness of my 8820, and the fact that I'm just getting back to Blackberrys, that has kept me from jumping on a Bold. And the BBF/Horizon Wireless contest But waiting is not my game. And in the scheme of things, a couple hundred bucks more than retail is a good bargain when it keeps you sane and gets you your device NOW. I place a big premium on instant gratification. Enjoy!

Wow, that's a nice chunk of change. Good luck with it. I can easily hold out until at&t officially launches it.

Glad you understand. To satisfy my technology fix I have purchased several Curves and go back and forth from the Titainium to the Red one and the 8820 just to hold me over. I hate waiting for something I want more than anything.
I agree it is a premium but i was going to pay full retail for the ATT Bold and like you say it is just a few more hundred dollars to have it now. When ATT comes out with theirs, I can pass mine on to my VP and both of us will be very happy!

You gotta do what you gotta do. If it wasn't for my accountant (wife), I would follow your example. Congrats!

I took care of the wife problem by getting her an iPhone. Her eyes got all glassy, her expression went to a blank smile, and she let out an "Ooooooh, SHIny!" and left me alone to get whatever mobile I wanted. She's so enthralled with all the bells and whistles on that thing that I probably have a free pass on mobiles for a good 6 months.

Rambo...
Nice game plan. I can start planning my visit to the At&t store with this game plan. And snag a bold in the process...

I kinda did the same about 6 months ago but instead of an iPhone I had to get her a Lexus! I am hoping she is still happy.

Ok showoff... Your game plan does not meet the BBforum Budget Plan Rambo outlined. Please review your plan and resubmit...

The car was not my idea, I would have loved to have followed the rules. Her trade in was 8 years old!

Just curious, but why would you buy one from ebay for $1,099 when you could buy one from Horizon Wireless for $849? Horizon's $849 phone is Rogers branded, but there really isn't a difference and Horizon's is also unlocked. I've never done business with Horizon, but people on the forum seem to indicate they are legit.
Anybody have any info pro/con on Horizon Wireless?

I'm a bit biased , but all my dealings with Horizon Wireless have led me to conclude they're a first-class operation. I've gotten parts from them and unlock codes. No worries.

I believe that gsmphonesource.com sells unlocked Bolds as well. Adam is the guy there and is very reputable.

Toggle 3G
Hi everyone...
From the other treads today on the Bold forum, another poster is indicating you can toggle the 3g and conserve the battery by not going on the 3g and staying on Edge. Then if you want to download something or browse the internet you can turn on the 3g. If you can do that with this phone, it will be great!
H.

Good plan, until you won a free Bold! If I were you I would go out and get some other phone since the Bold really doesn't count.
