Question Removing Voice Activated Dialing

Please Login to Remove!

I've installed BBSak and have my Curve plugged in. In the list of COD files, these:

Are these the correct ones to delete so I can be rid of Voice Activated Dialing once and for all?

Thank you.

Yes it is. I've removed them also. Never found it to perform too well, and freed up some memory.

Well, I removed them, but didn't gain back a single megabyte of RAM.

Removing VAD is supposed to free up about 500kb.

If bbsak doesn't reboot your bb, you need to do a Alt-RightShift-Del and then you should notice the increase in mem.

It did reboot it. I still only have about 18 MB free on bootup. I want to keep my OS 5 and BBM. Would removing TTY free up substantial RAM?

I am pretty ruthless when it comes to removing things on my BB to free up memory. I remove VAD, TTY, Password Keeper, Tasks, Memo Pad, BBM photos/calendar/lists, extra themes are moved to the SD card. I also have used Word2Go to replace Memo Pad & Password Keeper. There are some others I delete also. I delete every email after reading it (I can always login to the email account on the internet if I need an old email). I also have a ton of apps on my 8330. I start with 25 MB and settle in around 20 MB by the end of the day.
