Default Question about unlocking blackberry

Ok lets say i bought a blackberry curve unlocked to rogers.
Whats the process once its unlocked.
How much would I have to pay a month and what features do i get?

Unlocking just allows you to use the device on another carrier's network. There's no monthly cost. It's just a one time fee to unlock the device. If you purchased the device unlocked, then you have nothing to worry about.

You just have to pay whatever carrier you're on for the BlackBerry service.

The unlocking basically is good for one of two reasons. You buy a cheap phone thats on another carrier, you unlock it and bring it to your carrier. The second reason is you travel a lot and want to avoid roaming fees. So when you go to your destination country you pop in your temp sim card, use pay as you go or whatever arrangement you make. When you get back to your home country, pop your original sim back in and you've saved yourself close to a buck a min

Depending on your carrier some even do it for free. Otherwise, paying the one-time fee is worth it especially if you travel quite a bit and use SIM cards from other companies.
