Hi

Was wondering if anyone can assist

I have been though the numerous pages of restoring the OS but can not get it loaded

I am using Vodafone Ntwork and have recieved the 9790
I don't know what;s happened to the device but am getting error 507 and to reload

so have downloaded the OS from:
sw downloads blackbery both versions of multilanguage

for the 9790
Restarted and used desktop managerwhich says device not recognised

so tried the approach through app loader. it goes through the motions but will not recognise the fact that I have downloaded/Installed the OS which I can see present in add/remove programs

When going add it finds the folder and then says not for your device when selecting blackberry.aix

am using desktop manager 6 (Latest Update)
Windows XP 32 Bit SP3

Just getting fustrated going round in circles installing the OS uninstalling and reintsalling in a hope it may find it.

Am I doing somthing fundamentally wrong or should I have stuck with my 9900

I assume that you are loading OS7. There are more than one vendor.xml files which you have to delete.

Are you following our instructions at the top of the 9700 section?

Error 507 is no operating system.

I should have started

Yes I am trying to install OS7 onto the device
I can only see the vendor.xml file in the c:\program files\common files\app loader folder which I have deleted

I don't see this compatability Files option where it may show me another copy of vendor.xml

Windows search does not bring back any more vendor.xml files when searching

sorry to be a pain

The other file is hidden in a hidden folder. Make sure that all your files and folders are unhidden.
