Default Upgrade Issue, please help!!!

Please Login to Remove!

I am using DM 5.0 to upgrade to 5.0.0.328 since it popped up and said I needed to. I have been waiting for about 50 minutes, and it's still on the "Wait for device initialization : Connecting to device (this process could take upto 30 minutes)" screen on the DM. The phone itself is sitting on the Verizon Wireless logo...

How much longer should I wait before diconnecting and re-try, or what should I do??? I certainly don't want to mess up the phone.

Thanks,
Ben

Just leave it to do its thing.
If you disconnect, you're gonna have a whole load of other problems to deal with.

Should it really take over an hour to upgrade though??? Seems a little long when it didn't take this long to go from 4.7.x to 5.0 when it was first released by Verizon... I guess I'll just let it be for awhile longer...

Thanks,
Ben

What did you find out, skeptiq? I would have said to leave, too, but it's probably been long enough by now. What happened?

Personal opinion here, even though you get a message to upgrade, my advice is if your device is working as you need and want and isn't broken, don't try to fix it. There are way too many problems showing up concerning things not working correctly, apps not working at all, etc. that it just might not be worth the aggravation.

My 5 cents worth.

I think actually the vast mojority of us who upgraded our OS have had no problems.
Problems occur most with the leaked versions.

Update. I waited about an hour and a half and pulled and prayed... Restarted device and it came up on 5.0.0.328... so I got lucky there. The only issue I have experienced is quickpull lite not working. My buddy, same model and on .328 just installed the new version of quickpull lite and it's working fine, mine still doesn't. I have a feeling this might be some residual issue from the load not completing.

So... today, I did a sync and backup and thought I would remove quickpull using the app loader, and when I pulled that up it says I need to upgrade to the new OS, so I am back where I started... I started the load at 3pm and it's exactly where it was when I originally posted this thread. So I am going to stick it out with the app loader until 5 and if it hasn't completed by then, I don't know what I am going to do. I may try reloading from my pre 5.0 load, which would be 4.7 I think and maybe try from scratch. I am using the Blackberry Desktop for the app load, so I doubt this is a leaked 5.0 version, it should be the one from my carrier, right???

Also, open to suggestions if anyone has any!!!

Thanks!
