Default Trying to Run Opera Mini

Please Login to Remove!

Hey all,

I just got my first blackberry last friday and it happens to be the Pearl. I fell in love with it the minute I started playing with it... But anyways, I'm trying to run Opera Mini and it keeps coming up with an error saying that it failed to connect to the internet. I'm not sure where I can go to change the internet settings in my phone or what to change them to.

If anyone could possibly guide me to a solution it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Go to Options >Advanced Options >TCP and enter the following.

APN:wap.voicestream.com
Username:
Password:

(leave username and password blank)

You may need to reboot the device after entering this but most of the time I've not needed to.

I've downloaded and rebooted my 8100 numerous times and still can't get opera mini to work. I keep getting the "error' message and I went under the TCP settings and no luck. Any other tips?

I inputed the settings JC recommended, then uninstalled using desktop manager. Reinstalled and it setup right away. Worked for me!

Default Noob Question

I have version 4 beta installed, but when the welcome screen gives you options to "accept" or "exit" the license agreement on the LR and LL of the screen above the phone keys, how do you choose them? I hit the menu button, and the only choice I get is "exit." Do I need to wait for the problem to be resolved, or am I missing something?

Thanks.

Use the "Q" and "P" keys to Accept or Exit.

Hi, I'm new to the forums and I recently picked up a BB 8100 Pearl. I'm on Rogers in Canada. I followed the instructions in this thread but I still can't seem to get Opera to work.

I went into Options > Advanced > TCP, and set
APN: internet.com
user: wapuser1
pass: wap

Also I have Options > Network, set as
Data Services: ON

No matter how many times I try, Opera tries to access the internet running its tests and always comes back saying it failed to get a connection. Is there anything else I need to do to get this working?

Any help would be appreciated!

I'm also on Rogers and get the same message occasionally, but despite it, the browser still manages to connect when I return to it.

Are your settings the same as mine? I've never been able to get it working so I don't know what to do.
