Unhappy JVM Error 531

Please Login to Remove!

Hi all,

Im facing a severe problem with my 7100t. It's giving "JVM Error 531" & says to Reset the handheld & after reseting, the same error has been flashed again. I've tried all the options mentioned on the net, but in vein.

Is it must to reinstall the BlackBerry OS? If so then how to do the same?

Please give me some light. I found myself in tunnel with no ray of light.

Thanx for reply in advance. Earlier reply will be much appretiable.

Re-install the HH code

go into your DM -> App loader, and re-install. Mind you, you need to have the HandHeld code installed prior to doing this

I'm in need of a reinstall of handheld software as well. (7100i)
I installed the DM 4.1 but I think I messed up.

When I open the App Loader there is nothing there.
I downloaded the 7100i handset software from Nextel, but when I navigate to the software I downloaded nothing shows up.

I'm on a BES on Exchange 2003. I'm thinking all I have to do is get the IT manager to let me install the software. (you do not have administrative rights on this terminal. Please contact you computer admin. or whatever)

When I click on the download it seemed to try to install the DM again. It asked if I wanted to modify, reinstall, or remove the software.
Do I select modify, and this kind of "patches" the DM for my handheld?

Help my BB is toast! Says JVM 102 reset, mobius strip like. (never ending)

I hope this makes enough sense for someone familiar with this to know what I am talking about.

WiGuy - Did you run the handheld software executable? You have to install it to your PC before the Application Loader can see it.

Default Platform Version of Handheld Software

***I realize that this thread is old and I am posting late, but I just wanted to add this post in case someone is having the same issue and has not thought about the significance of the Platform Version.***

Make certain that you have downloaded the correct PLATFORM version, (the platform version is completely different from the handheld software version!) of the handheld software. You will not be able to check the Platform Version, (which is under the Tools/About menu) since your device is fried, so you will need to install the other Platform version form the Blackberry site and see what happens.
