Hello all,
I have looked far and wide for a solution to these events...

BlackBerry Synchronization Service|||4|[SYNC-DSession] Failed (error=5411) to decode UPDATE record. [<Username>:331, DS=Backup, DB=EntryPoint Settings, TB=1, UID=-86

We are currently using BES 4.1.4 Bundle 25 with Exchange 2000.
So far these errors don't seem to be causing any issues but they are causing far too many alerts in our reporting software.
Does anyone have any clues?

This happens when the BB device is doing the wireless backup and it can't backup the Entrypoint Settings for whatever reason. This is not a big problem, but on the long run, I would try to solve it.

I guess you are using a relatively new device with an old BES version. I would definitely plan to upgrade BES and Exchange. Your versions are both out of support.

on OS 6 and 7 you will lose your auto text entries on BES 4.1.7

I think its related to the entry point settings since not everyone uses them here.
