Hi,

set_Password command is throwing an error when I run it on BES 5.0, while i can successfully run this command on my other BES 4.1.6 box. All other 'BESUserAdminClient' commands are running fine except this set_password on BES 5.

BESUserAdminClient -set_password password -u "User1@Domain1.com" -b "BB01" -n "BB01" -p ClientPassword

This is the main error:

c5c} Unable to set device password for user:
(10/16 20:17:01.614):{main} [com.rim.bes.brk.besuseradmin.BESUserAdminMain] [INFO] [BUA-3000] {admin:45a1c5c} ... failure.

I have checked 'BES User Admin service Tool' docs, and this set_password command is same as it was for BES4.1.6.

Does anybody have this experience?

I dont know why this 'set_password' is failing, here are the things which I did for setting a password for a BES 5 user ( I did same steps for BES 4.1.6 user successfully).

1. Added this user using -add command ( I have tried this also with adding the user from BES Interface i.e. BAS)

BESUserAdminClient -add -p ClientPassword -u "User1@Domain1.com" -b "BB01" -n "BB01" -w "userPwd" -wt 48 -it_policy "Default"

2. Tried to set password using

BESUserAdminClient -set_password password -u "User1@Domain1.com" -b "BB01" -n "BB01" -p ClientPassword

which then failed on BES 5.0, while ran successfully on BES 4.1.6.

Any suggestons?
