Default force silent ring through policy or turn off redirection without impacting messages

Please Login to Remove!

I need to know if there is a way to force a silent ringer through the IT policy in BES 5.0.

or

Is there a way to pause redirection of messages without impacting the delivery of the messages after being turned back on. I tried this and the messages sent when redirection was turned off never made it to the phone when it was turned back on.
